Ancient Oaks

Founded in 1999 by Stu Gleman, Ancient Oaks runs 29 loops of a 3.46-mile course through Enchanted Forest Nature Sanctuary — 32 hours, invitation-only, no-fee, low-aid, capped at 60 runners. Terrain mixes boardwalk, sand, roots, a bridge over a drainage canal, and twisting single-track beneath old-growth oaks. There is no finisher buckle and none is planned. Invitations go out by private selection each year from requests submitted in a 30-day June window.
