Badger Mountain
Founded in 2012, Badger Mountain Challenge runs a 100-mile out-and-back through the Badger Mountain Preserve and Horse Heaven Hills east of Richland, Washington — single-track, rocky jeep roads, gravel shoulders, and brief pavement — with 18,431 feet of gain and a high point around 2,000 feet. The late-March window is the hazard: conditions swing from 75°F sun to 35°F with 40 mph winds, hail, and whiteout fog. Historical finish rates run 34 to 56 percent. The 32.5-hour cutoff earns 6 UTMB index points.
