Qualifier status per the 2026 lists
Founded in 1999, Bear runs point-to-point from Logan, Utah to Fish Haven, Idaho through the Bear River Range — 65% single-track, 34% dirt double-track, 21,986 feet of gain, averaging 7,700 feet of elevation and cresting near 9,000. Entry requires a prior 50-miler under 16 hours or any 100K-plus, a lottery draw, and eight hours of documented trail service. The 36-hour cutoff carries the motto "36 Hours of Indian Summer"; in 2025, 251 of 335 starters finished. Bear qualifies for both Western States 100 and Hardrock 100.
