Founded in 2019, Blackbeard's Revenge runs 100 miles point-to-point along NC-12 from Historic Corolla Park to The Wreck Tiki Bar in Hatteras — 100% paved, essentially flat, with the Outer Banks bridges the only elevation. What replaces technical terrain is coastal exposure: temperatures that swing from 20°F to 80°F, sustained headwinds off the Atlantic, and the psychological grind of a road that stretches unbroken to the horizon. In 2025, 506 participants from 34 states started; The Wreck Tiki Bar stayed open 31 consecutive hours for finishers.
