Blood Rock
Blood Rock covers 101.79 miles through Oak Mountain State Park — Alabama's largest — on two loops of a 50-mile circuit: 92.84 miles of single-track, 7.74 miles of gravel, and 1.18 miles of pavement threading ridge-tops and valley floors past Summit, Demopolis, and Belcher lakes. Elevation gain is 17,512 feet; the 44-hour cutoff is the longest of any major Alabama 100. Mandatory gear includes a GPS device, emergency bivy sack, and water filter, reflecting the seriousness of December cold and remote terrain south of Birmingham. Results on UltraSignup date to 2013.
