Burning River
Qualifier status per the 2026 lists
Founded in 2007 as Northeast Ohio's first 100-mile trail race, Burning River runs an out-and-back from Cuyahoga Falls to Silver Springs Park through Cuyahoga Valley National Park — roughly 70 miles of dirt trail, singletrack, and bridle path with stretches of crushed-limestone towpath and road, 8,000 feet of gain. The name references the 1969 Cuyahoga River fire that helped spur the Clean Water Act. The 100-miler is the third leg of the Midwest Grand Slam and a Western States lottery qualifier (30-hour or better finishes). 2026 marks the 20th anniversary.
