Qualifier status per the 2026 lists
Founded in 1999 and reshaped in 2016 to add more elevation, Cascade Crest loops 100 miles through the Wenatchee and Snoqualmie-Mt Baker National Forests with 23,000 feet of gain — alternating between 30 miles of smooth Pacific Crest Trail and sections that are anything but: the Cardiac Needles (straight-up climbs with no switchbacks), a rope-assisted descent on loose dirt, and the 2.5-mile Snoqualmie Pass railroad tunnel, heated by the grade and dark enough to require a headlamp at midday. The race qualifies for both Western States and Hardrock lottery entry.
