Connecticut Ultra Traverse
First run in 2017, the Connecticut Ultra Traverse follows 112 miles of Blue-Blazed New England Trail from Rising Corner Road at the MA-CT border to Long Island Sound in Guilford — point-to-point, no permits, no sleep. The route crosses Connecticut's traprock ridges (Suffield Mountain, Penwood State Park, Ragged Mountain, Lamentation Mountain) on nearly continuous technical singletrack, with at least 16,722 feet of gain. Finishing times typically run 30-45 hours. Entry is a $112 donation to the Connecticut Forest and Parks Association; the event doubles as a fundraiser.
