Cowboy 100
The Cowboy 100 debuted in 2022 alongside the Cowboy 200, running point-to-point along Nebraska's Cowboy Trail — a rails-to-trails corridor of crushed limestone, 100% flat, 100% runnable, and closed to motor vehicles. Runners travel roughly 100 miles westward through the Nebraska Sand Hills on the former Chicago & Northwestern rail line, crossing more than 200 historic railroad bridges, the largest a quarter-mile long and 148 feet high. No mountain tech, no significant elevation gain — the challenge is time and monotony: a 32-hour cutoff on an open, wind-exposed plain.
