Cry Me A River
Launched in 2015 at Camp Wokanda — a former Boy Scout camp along the Illinois River north of Peoria — Cry Me A River sends 100-milers through four 25-mile loops on the Illinois River Bluff Trail: 90% wooded single-track with relentless "shark bite hills," steep switchbacks, root scrambles, and punishing descents, 18,500 feet of total gain. July timing means humidity and summer heat. The 36-hour cutoff governs the 100-miler, with the final loop start gated at 10 p.m. Saturday; runners completing 500 cumulative miles across years earn a custom jacket.
