Fire Fest

Fire Fest Ultra runs a 17.1-mile backcountry loop through Valley of Fire State Park in the Mojave Desert, 61 miles north of Las Vegas. The 100-mile distance requires completing the loop approximately five times plus a 1.3-mile out-and-back. Runners pass Aztec sandstone formations, petroglyph sites including Mouse's Tank, desert flora including yucca and prickly pear, and occasional bighorn sheep. The 35-hour cutoff accommodates an overnight push through desert cold. The event pairs racing with a camping festival — outdoor movies, music, and karaoke at base camp.
