Flat Top Mesa
Flat Top Mesa Endurance Run sends 100-mile runners through 10 counterclockwise laps of a 10-mile desert loop above Mesquite, Nevada. Each lap opens with a steep 430-foot climb onto the mesa — rocky packed-dirt trail — then traverses rolling plateau before a technical descending mile back to the parking lot. Cumulative gain for the 100 miles is roughly 4,300 feet. The 44-hour cutoff and exposed desert environment demand aerobic endurance and heat management; the February timing moderates temperatures but does not eliminate them.
