Frozen:H3 runs on the Jericho Horse Trail in Francis Marion National Forest outside Charleston, South Carolina — the winter version of the June Hell Hole Hundred on the same flat loop of dirt fire roads and single-track through Hell Hole Swamp. The 100-mile cutoff is 33 hours across multiple 16- and 18-mile laps. Near-zero elevation paradoxically challenges runners who struggle knowing when to walk on featureless ground; the final 4 miles typically run wet. Part of Palmetto Ultras' Swamp Series alongside Swamp Fox and Hell Hole, which crowns a King or Queen of the Swamp by cumulative miles.
