Habenero Hundred
Founded in 2015 at 7IL Ranch near Cat Spring, Texas, the Habanero Hundred starts at noon in August — average real-feel temperatures above 100°F and high humidity throughout. The 100-mile distance strings roughly 16 laps of a 10-kilometer loop through sandy, partially shaded ranch terrain with about 280 feet of gain per lap. The 30-hour cutoff ends at 6 PM Sunday. Between 2015 and 2024, only 162 runners finished the 100-mile distance; in the inaugural year, a single finisher crossed the line from a field of 28.
