Hare Mountain
Founded in 2023, Hare Mountain 100 runs point-to-point from Haw Creek Falls Recreation Area to Shores Lake on the Ozark Highlands Trail through the Boston Mountain segment of northwestern Arkansas — one of the most isolated stretches of trail in the state. Rocky, steep hardwood forest, creek crossings, waterfalls, and sandstone bluffs stack 20,000 to 24,400 feet of gain into 100 miles. The 38-hour cutoff has not filtered broadly: in 2023, 1 of 9 starters finished; in 2024, 12 of 16; in 2025, 7 of 11. Mandatory satellite GPS tracking is required.
