Launched in 2021, Hell Creek 100 runs five 20-mile loops on the Switchgrass Mountain Bike Trail at Wilson State Park near Sylvan Grove, Kansas — rugged single-track with minimal tree cover and open views across Wilson Lake. At 10,120 feet of gain, it carries more elevation change than any other Kansas 100-miler. The 32-hour cutoff runs from the Saturday 6 AM start to 2 PM Sunday; the site also hosts a 140-mile 'Pure Hell' variant requiring a prior 100-mile finish. A costume contest and Halloween date tie the event's identity to its name. In 2021, 8 of 15 starters finished the inaugural 100-mile.
