High Five
Aug 7, 2026
Founded in 2018 by Lake City locals, High Five 100 is not a conventional race: no entry fee, no marked course, no aid stations. Runners start and end in Lake City, Colorado, navigating 90 to 105 miles through the San Juan Mountains to 24 mandatory proof points and checkpoints in order — including five 14,000-foot summits and six 13ers — accumulating 40,000+ feet of gain. Applications require a completed mountain 100-miler on the résumé. The 48-hour cutoff is firm; roughly 1 in 3 accepted applicants finish.
