Hitchcock Experience

Founded in 2015 by the Greater Omaha Area Trail Runnerz, the Hitchcock Experience runs five 20-mile loops through the hills and bluffs of Hitchcock Nature Center, roughly 30 minutes northeast of Omaha. The terrain mixes single-track with fire-road-width trail and earns an improbable nearly 25,000 feet of gain for Iowa — steep, loamy descents and rolling ridgelines above the Missouri River valley. December timing means mud, snow, and overnight temperatures near freezing are routine; the cutoff closes Sunday at 3 PM. The total field is capped at 125 runners across all distances.
