IMTUF
Qualifier status per the 2026 lists
Founded in 2012 at Jug Mountain Ranch south of McCall, IMTUF runs a 100-mile loop through the Salmon River Mountains — 20,000 feet of gain crossing 8 high passes, talus fields, granite slabs, steep creek drainages, and dense conifer forest. The 36-hour cutoff masks the real filter: finish rates historically run 40–50%. A Hardrock 100 and Western States 100 qualifier, the race bills itself as a post-doctoral level ultra requiring a lifetime of rugged mountain travel. The peak elk rut coincides with the September race weekend.
