Kettle Moraine
Qualifier status per the 2026 lists
Founded in 1996 by Kevin and Kris Setnes, Kettle Moraine runs 100 miles on two successive out-and-back legs in Kettle Moraine State Forest, with 65 of those miles on the Ice Age National Scenic Trail. The course is 80% wooded singletrack — roots, rocks, and roller-coaster hills — through prairie and marsh, with 8,801 feet of gain and 21 staffed aid stations. The 30-hour cutoff also serves as the Western States 100 qualifying standard. Entry requires 8 hours of documented volunteer service, and registration is by annual lottery.
