Founded in 2017, Lighthouse 100 runs point-to-point from the Old Mission Lighthouse north of Traverse City to the Petoskey Pierhead Lighthouse — 100 miles through Grand Traverse Bay shoreline towns including Elk Rapids, Torch Lake, and Charlevoix. The course travels almost entirely on paved seaside bike paths and low-traffic two-lane roads, with just 3–5 miles on US-31; roughly 2,700 feet of gain over gently rolling terrain. A 30-hour cutoff and flat-to-rolling surface make it one of the few road-based 100-milers in the country.
