Loco Challenge

The Loco Go Big or Go Home Challenge added its 100-mile distance in 2019, running an out-and-back course from Butte Meadows into Lassen National Forest on mostly dirt and gravel logging roads — rolling hills, creek crossings, and named course sections including Coyote Head, Coyote Butt, and the Lollipop Loop. Elevation at the start sits around 4,300 feet. The 32-hour cutoff is generous; free camping and a post-race meal are included. Last documented edition was June 2024; no 2025 or 2026 dates were publicly listed as of mid-2026.
