North Dakota · Medora
Maah Daah Hey 106
The Mandan name translates as 'long lasting,' and the course earns it: 116 miles of out-and-back single-track through the North Dakota Badlands, finishing in Medora, over dirt, clay, sandstone, and scoria with 11,968 feet of gain across continuous climbs out of the Little Missouri River drainage. Founded in 2012 by Nick Ybarra as part of the Badlands Race Series, the event carries a 36-hour cutoff and a historical ~50% finish rate; in 2024, 11 runners completed the full distance; in 2025, 12. Heat in late July can reach the upper 80s.
