Machete Trail Madness
Run around Dia De Los Muertos, Machete Trail Madness 100 covers ten 10-mile loops of Lake Perris State Recreation Area in Perris, California — 70% fast, runnable single-track with lake views, 2,300 feet of gain per loop for 23,000 feet total. The Day of the Dead theme is central: the event is communal and family-oriented, with on-site camping included for all multi-distance runners. Aid stations appear at miles 8 and 13 of each loop, giving crews and families regular access. Runners have 48 hours to finish. The race grew out of the Machete Madness series, which launched in 2014.
