Midwest States
Inaugurated in 2022 by Ornery Mule Racing, Midwest States 100 covers 100 miles out-and-back through Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest in Wisconsin, mostly on the Ice Age Trail — one of 11 National Scenic Trails in the country — with roughly 6,700 feet of gain across glacially carved terrain: rocky single-track, pine forest, open prairie, marshes, and boardwalks over bogs. Aid stations sit 6 to 7 miles apart; bears are a documented hazard; the 34-hour cutoff and 300-runner field cap reflect the wilderness character.
