Founded in 2018, Mines of Spain 100 runs five 20-mile loops through the Mines of Spain Recreation Area above the Mississippi River in Dubuque, Iowa — steep technical single-track, rolling dirt doubletrack, and prairie grass, with 14,000 feet of gain. The driftless-region course visits the Julien Dubuque Monument, Horseshoe Bluff, and Catfish Creek drainage. The 33-hour cutoff runs Friday 8 AM to Saturday 5 PM; crew and pacer access is limited to start/finish and one mid-course station. A UTMB qualifier.
