Mississippi 50
Mar 5, 2027
Honoring founder Carl Touchstone, who moved the race to the Longleaf Horse Trails in DeSoto National Forest in 1996, the Mississippi Trail Run added its 100-mile distance in 2023 — the first 100-miler in the state. The course loops through gently rolling pine forest on single-track and logging roads: seven 12.6-mile loops plus two 6.1-mile loops, with creek crossings that can run knee-deep after rain. The 100-mile starts Friday at noon with a 30-hour cutoff; the race director puts the drop rate near 50 percent.
