Mountains To Sea
Mountains to Sea 100 covers 102 miles as a double out-and-back from Rolling View Recreation Area on Falls Lake, east of Durham, running in opposite directions from base camp. The course is 99.5% single-track — rooted, rolling, muddy in March — with 7,700 feet of gain, bridge crossings, and open lakeside stretches. Seven aid stations and the out-and-back geometry allow frequent crew access. The 34-hour cutoff accommodates broad participation; proceeds benefit Healing Transitions and the Friends of the Mountains-to-Sea Trail.
