Pine Creek Challenge
The Pine Creek Challenge runs through the Pine Creek Gorge — Pennsylvania's "Grand Canyon of the East" — on a crushed-stone rail trail 20 feet wide and nearly flat, descending roughly 900 feet over its length. The 100-mile course is two complete out-and-backs along 25 miles of the upper canyon to Blackwell, passing through the gorge four times. No navigation demands, no technical footing, and crew access at five aid stations roughly every 6 miles give the race a beginner-friendly reputation. The Tyoga Running Club sets a 30-hour cutoff; in 2025, the 15th annual running drew 45 finishers.
