Pumpkin Holler
Founded in 2011, Pumpkin Holler Hunnerd runs gravel roads through the J.T. Nickel Preserve in Cherokee County, Oklahoma — 17,000 acres of Ozark oak-hickory forest and grassy prairie along the Illinois River. The course is looped through the Cookson Hills, with substantially more climbing than the terrain suggests; runner GPS from the 2011 inaugural recorded roughly 15,000 feet of gain. A 31-hour cutoff ends the race at 2 PM Sunday. A concurrent gravel bike event shares portions of the course. In 2025, all 37 starters finished.
