Run Undead

Founded in 2020, Run Undead runs 100 miles on a 5-mile single-track loop at Oak Mountain State Park — Alabama's largest state park — repeated 20 times, with roughly 350 feet of gain per lap and about 7,000 feet total. The New Year's Eve timing is the identity: a midnight ball drop, round-the-clock music, dance-offs, and karaoke run alongside the racing, and the 36-hour cutoff means most finishers cross into the new year. In 2025, 35 runners completed the 100-mile distance. Organized by Zombie Trail Races, it is the premier social trail event for the Southeast.
