Sangre de Cristo

Founded in 2018, Sangre de Cristo runs out-and-back on the Rainbow Trail in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains near Westcliffe — a route at 9,000 to 13,500 feet, including the steep Music Pass climb (2,000 feet in 4.3 miles), on ATV-width singletrack at the Wilderness boundary. The 100-mile starts at 4 AM from Music Meadows Ranch with a 38-hour cutoff recently extended by 2 hours. Entry is capped at 50 runners and requires 8 hours of prior trail-work volunteering or a $150 donation. The 9th annual edition runs September 2026.
