Swamp Fox
Founded in 2017 by Eagle Endurance and now run by Palmetto Ultras, the Swamp Fox Ultra covers 104 miles out-and-back on the Awendaw and Swamp Fox Passages of the Palmetto Trail through Francis Marion National Forest near Charleston — the only race to traverse the forest end to end, from Buck Hall Recreation Area in McClellanville to Highway 52 in Moncks Corner. Terrain is mostly single and double track with fire road sections and boardwalks over lowcountry wetlands. The course is very flat; rainfall determines conditions. The 34-hour cutoff governs all distances.
