Tahoe Rim Trail

Founded in 2001, the Tahoe Rim Trail Endurance Runs covers approximately 102 miles in two 50-mile loops on alpine single-track and dirt roads through the Carson Spur of the Sierra Nevada on the east side of Lake Tahoe. The course averages about 8,000 feet of elevation, topping out at 9,214-foot Snow Valley Peak, with 18,140 feet of gain. All 100-mile entrants must complete 8 hours of trail work before race day. A Western States qualifier, the event carries a 36-hour cutoff; in 2024, 74% of starters finished. The race is directed by a 501(c)(3) that has donated over $300,000 to trail maintenance.
