Founded in 2014, Wildcat runs Labor Day weekend at Escambia County Equestrian Center in Pensacola — 40 laps of a 2.5-mile loop on mostly grass and packed dirt, with three short dirt-trail segments near the finish. The challenge is environmental rather than topographic: daytime highs push into the 90s with humidity to match on Florida's Gulf Coast Panhandle. The 2026 edition is the 12th annual; the race is USATF-sanctioned with a 40-hour cutoff and a belt buckle for 100-mile finishers.
