Zumbro
Apr 9, 2027
Founded in 2009 by Larry Pederson, Zumbro sends 100-mile runners through six 17-mile loops in the Zumbro Bottoms hardwood forest of southeastern Minnesota — 102 miles total, 13,500 feet of gain — on rugged single and double track with loose rock, sand, and four steep 300-foot climbs per loop including Paddy's Hill. The 34-hour cutoff and April timing mean variable weather: snow, mud, and sub-freezing nights are common. In 2026, 42 of 72 starters finished (58%); in 2025, 42 of 63 finished (67%).
